After her first exhibition at Liberty's of London sold out, Carole moved to New York to take up commissions for watercolour portraits of houses and gardens. A feature on her work in American Vogue brought many new patrons from New York, Palm Beach and California.

Returning to Europe she ran a gallery in Henley-on-Thames and continues to paint views of Great Britain and the Continent.

She has recently written and illustrated books of her adventures as an itinerant artist and writer.
